Removing Wallpaper From Gyprock Walls
Have been using a wallpaper steamer but need to score the wallpaper and use a lot of elbow grease with a scraper.
Removing wallpaper from gyprock walls. The problem is in peeling it off often the paper covering of the. Load your roller with water and very gently start at the bottom of the wall and with light pressure start rolling the water in an upwards direction. I was thinking the steamer might remove the paper off the gyprock as well.
Use a cheap plastic broad-knife to apply and a cheap hand sander is a good. Using a garden sprayer mix a bottle of methylated spirits with a approx 6 litres of warm water Make sure you put rolled up towels at the base of the wall to protect the carpet. Its only on one wall but the wallpaper has been painted over most of the wallpaper is stuck well apart from some areas at the top which are bubbling and I can see each join.
A steamer is a waste of time Wallpaper can easily be taken off by tearing the top layer of paper off Take off as much as you can so that the paper underneath is visible. I have had two lots of advise. One is the steamer will work fine and leave the wall.
I plan to paint the room in about six weeks time.
